Video, Presentation and Blog: Educational TEACHnologies Today
We all
know that technology embraces almost all aspects of the modern world. As you
can see in our surrounding, people are always handling their mobile phones,
having a lot of gadgets like laptop and many more. CCTV cameras around the
streets, using mobile to pick up taxis and accessing maps through cellphone to
determine your location are just some of the contribution of technology to us.
It is very apparent that it’s a way far better than those we had experienced
during the traditional era.
In
education, technology continue making every transaction, discussion, and the like
more effective, efficient and most of all convenient, just the use of Videos, PowerPoint
Presentations and Blogging through online publication. Videos are commonly used
to present details especially if the subjects are in motion and more detailed.
More so, videos are used to view short films, documentaries and other
cinematographic clippings.
Among the
technological integration in education, PowerPoint presentation is the most
convenient and widely used because it has built-in professional-looking
graphics and tools that allows even the most novice user to create impressive
visual presentations. More so, PowerPoint presentation consists of a series of user-created
slides. It has several templates to assist with slide creation, or users may
opt for a design of their own. PowerPoint presentations can be displayed via
most video projectors and can be printed out as a takeaway for the audience.
On the other hand, a blog is just a
type of website with a specific format. Blogging is the new way to publish
written articles and documents through the use of internet. Teachers opt to use
this kind of educational technology to give avenue for the students to publish
their own work especially in literature and other field.
Though
the three educational technologies mentioned above differ from each other on
their features and the way they will be created but they share a common
endpoint which is to make presentation of ideas more creative and
comprehensive. Through these, learning can be more powerful and effective with
lesser time to consume.
It’s already
21srt Century now, we are already living in a cyber-world and all we have to do
is to embrace technology and continue to utilize it on the real purposes it
served.
